Loan for the Replantation of Sugarcane under the Cane Replantation Revolving Fund of the DBM
1. Government has made provision in the Budget 2022-2023 for a Cane Replantation Revolving Fund at DBM Ltd to provide loan at a preferential rate of 2.5% p.a. to all categories of sugarcane planters who are willing to:
(a) renew their crops (change of old ratoons); or
(b) bring back their abandoned land into cane

2. Additional funds have been provided for in Budget 2023-2024
3. The MCIA is acting as a facilitator with all stakeholders of the cane industry and DBM Ltd to encourage cane replantation for better yield and related benefits.
4.Sugarcane planters are advised to liaise with the DBM Ltd ( Head Office
or any of its branches) for more details and loan application or apply for the loan
on its website: https://dbm.mu.
